"This is a very good read-aloud and a wonderful book to linger over.” (School Library Journal starred review)It’s time for a parade! Why? Because Gabby said so! Gabby and her grandma set out through the streets of their neighbourhood, and Gabby invites everyone (well, everyone who is nice) to join her. There’s a lot of talent in Gabby’s parade: Fatima can double hula-hoop, Rashad can walk like a crab, and Anthony has very, very good boots. Gabby is bossy, but she’s also kind, and the resulting parade is silly, noisy, righteous, and just plain fun.
Full of humour and heart, A Very Good Parade is a scrappy celebration of empowerment, kids, and community.
